"We started Michelle's Place to honor our daughter's wish and out of that wish has grown an organization fueled by love and concern for helping others on this journey. Every woman who passes through our doors has a story and it is those unique stories that remind us of the importance in helping to make each individual journey a little bit easier." - Marilyn Watson Marilyn founded Michelle's Place in memory of her youngest daughter, Michelle. With her husband, Bill, close family and friends gathered around a table in her son's home, and with tears in her eyes, she led the first Michelle's Place Board Meeting and initiated what would bring to life her daughter's wish and so much more. Having graduated from the University of LaVerne with a Bachelor of Arts degree and teaching credential, Marilyn is now retired after 16 years of teaching. She taught second grade for the Murrieta Valley Unified School District for 10 years and for Placentia and Rowland Heights for 6 years. She also has experience in running a business as she co-owned and operated a bed and breakfast and the Ye Olde Round Table Sandwich Shop in Anaheim. Marilyn is very involved in the day-to-day operations of Michelle's Place and supports the staff whenever needed. She also volunteers for the American Cancer Society. Marilyn enjoys spending time with her six grandchildren, camping and traveling.
