Richard & Betty

Richard and Betty met Michelle Watson when she was very ill. Mutual friends with founders, Bill and Marilyn Watson, they attended the formation meeting for Michelle’s Place ten years ago. They have both been involved with Michelle’s Place ever since.

"I helped with the fundraisers and walks,” Betty said. She also has always worked in the office once a week, currently on Friday mornings. “I just like helping people,” Betty said.

Richard currently serves on the Finance Committee of the Advisory Board for Michelle’s Place.  Now retired, he worked in banking and finance his whole career.

A cancer survivor, Richard noted what a great help Michelle’s Place was in providing support and empathy during his treatment.

Betty and Richard have been married 54 years and have a son and daughter. They love to travel and participate in all of the Michelle’s Place fundraisers in their free time.
