Cancer Care

CancerCare is a national non-profit organization that provides free professional support services to anyone affected by cancer: people with cancer, caregivers, children, loved ones, and the bereaved. CancerCare programs—including counseling, education, financial assistance and practical help—are provided by trained oncology social workers and are completely free of charge.


OncoLink - The Web’s First Cancer Resource

OncoLink, the Web’s first cancer resource, provides comprehensive information on cancer treatments, cancer research advances, continuing medical education, cancer prevention, and clinical trials.


National Cancer Institute

The National Cancer Institute coordinates the National Cancer Program, which conducts and supports research, training, health information dissemination, and other programs with respect to the cause, diagnosis, prevention, and treatment of cancer, rehabilitation from cancer, and the continuing care of cancer patients and the families of cancer patients.


Association of Cancer Online Resources (ACOR)

The Association of Cancer Online Resources (ACOR) Network of Cancer Survivors & Caregivers is designed to provide accurate & timely information, resources in a supportive environment. ACOR  activities are conducted through disease-specific eCommunities (Internet support groups) and offers access to over 150 mailing lists that provide support, information and community to those affected by cancer and related disorders.


Be Aware Foundation

Be Aware Foundation, an organization co-founded by Dr. John West and Tanja Cebula, provides breast cancer facts, education and even email reminders to perform monthly breast self exams.


Health Central - My Breast Cancer Network

HealthCentral My Breast Cancer Network has information on breast cancer symptoms, diagnostics, drugs, treatments, and recontruction as well as online communities.  The site also has tools like Check a Breast Cancer Symptom and a Symptoms Quiz where you can learn to actively maintain and monitor your breast health.

The site states that "all clinical content is physician-reviewed."
 


American Cancer Society

The American Cancer Society is a nationwide community-based voluntary health organization dedicated to fighting cancer through balanced programs research, education, patient service, advocacy, and rehabilitation.  Their web site offers educational resources, online communites, news and tools.


Susan G. Komen for the Cure®

Susan G. Komen for the Cure® is a global leader in the fight against breast cancer through its support of innovative research and community-based outreach programs.  Their website offers a comprehensive guide to understanding breast cancer as well as information on advocacy and the latest research.
